We are so excited to have you all come to Haig Point on Daufuskie Island - a beautiful, secluded piece of paradise! Haig Point is a gated community on Daufuskie Island where all wedding events will take place. Haig Point is only accessible via a 20 minute private ferry from the Haig Point Embarkation Center (10 Haig Point Ct, Hilton Head Island, SC 29928). With the charm of a bridgeless island comes some logistics - the typical commute includes a flight to Savannah (SAV) or Hilton Head (HHH), an Uber or Lyft to the ferry Embarkation Center, and then a short ferry ride to the island. Or if you have the opportunity to drive to Hilton Head Island, you can park your car at the Embarkation Center. We will all be using golf carts to get around Daufuskie Island! The island is only 9.6 square miles, so it's very easy to travel the island by golf cart. While we encourage all guests to stay directly at Haig Point (see Accommodations tab), all wedding guests will have free access to the ferry even if you choose to stay on Hilton Head Island.

Transportation to the Island — Head to the Haig Point Embarkation Center (10 Haig Point Ct, Hilton Head Island, SC 29928), which is just below the Hilton Head Island Cross Island bridge. If you are staying at Haig Point, drop off your luggage with the valets at the covered Bag Drop. All of your luggage will be tagged and then delivered to your accommodations or residence at Haig Point. Then park your car for the weekend (complimentary). Head inside the Welcome Center to check in, receive your ferry passes, and enjoy the ride! If you are staying in a hotel on Hilton Head, please note that you will also go to this location, check in at the Welcome Center, and hop on the ferry!

Hold onto your ferry passes all weekend - they are used for arriving/departing on the ferry and through the Haig Point gates if you explore the rest of Daufuskie Island.

Transportation at Haig Point — Once you arrive to the Island, proceed up the dock to the cart barn area by the Strachan Mansion where you'll check in and find your golf cart with your names. For navigation to your rental home, maps will be provided in the golf carts and Google Maps, Waze, and Apple Maps all work on the island. Don’t worry about your luggage - it will be delivered directly to your house!

The ferry departs promptly at the time outlined in the schedule above. Please plan to arrive 30 minutes early for bag drop/check in or 15 minutes early otherwise. Children under 12 years old must be accompanied by an adult unless special arrangements have been made. Valets are happy to help people using canes, crutches or wheelchairs. Our valets can help transfer you in an electric cart from your car, down the dock ramp and to the boat. Please do not hesitate to ask for any assistance. The Baggage Drop and Front Desk are open seven days a week, 24 hours a day.

Valet luggage pick up is required for departure.

Haig Point valet attendants can happily assist in providing a luggage pick up service at the desired ferry time you’ll be leaving on. THE DAY BEFORE DEPARTING, guests should call the front desk at 843-686-2000 to give the Valet team a far in advance notice of the pickup requests.

At the time guests call the front desk to schedule the luggage pick up, you should be prepared to provide the following information: how many bags/pieces of luggage need to be picked up, the address of the home rental you’re staying at, the ferry time you would like to depart on, as well as notify them the number of guests that wish to be picked up at the same time they pick up the luggage(s) as well (if needed). Once the front desk receives this information, they would reserve the pick up and inform the valet team of their reservation to complete the pick up at the desired ferry departure time.
